Farewell Australia!

I’ve been home for two weeks now and I’m wrapping up this blog and fondly remembering the days spent exploring and studying. I met lots of lovely people and learn’t new things such as glass casting, which I plan to do more of at home.

Sadly the Write Away Project didn’t take off. Canberra Grammar School were originally happy to be involved as were Winnall Community Centre in Winchester where I’m running Art Club, but I found the head teacher in Canberra to be awkward and reluctant to agree to anything and I feel that she eventually let everyone down. I found a replacement school, but time for me just ran out.

Thank you so much to my lovely Sydney host, Dee who put me up, fed me and showed me more of Sydney than I would have discovered alone.

Thank you to everyone for your support and for helping me to fundraise for this trip and for giving me work!

Everything sparkles, the doormen smile and open the doors for you and it’s well worth visiting, money … Continue reading

Sydney Northern Beaches

Australia is best explored by car and the best people to show you the place are Aussies, friends and hosts. My host and I drove around part of the Northern coast and we dipped in and out of tropical forests, harbours and beaches before stopping for a fish n chip lunch followed by a pot … Continue reading
